If you’re a mom, you probably spend a majority of your day taking care of your family, while your own well-being takes a back seat. With everything you have going on in your day, it can be tough to find time for fitness. However, getting the exercise you need may be easier than you think. The YMCA of Southern Nevada makes it possible to prioritize your daily fitness with our childcare program. Our certified caretakers will watch your children, so you can get your workout in with these simple regimens:
Work With a Trainer Working with a personal trainer can make your workouts more efficient, helping you to optimize each session. A personal trainer will ensure you’re using the proper technique and will help keep you motivated. They can also suggest ways to work out during your daily activities at home. The Y offers various personal training programs that allow you to work with a trainer one-on-one or in small groups.
Try a Group Activity
If you don’t like one type of exercise, try another. Even when you find something you love, it’s important to mix up your routine so your body gets different types of exercise and doesn’t reach a plateau. At the Y, group exercise classes are offered for a variety of interests, including Zumba, aqua aerobics and indoor cycling, at various times of the day.
Team Up With a Partner
It can be easy to skip a workout if you have only yourself to answer to. But, if you have a friend or coworker who can join you, you’ll be less likely to cancel. You can also help encourage each other and share your victories together. Even if you don’t have a workout buddy available close by, you can join a Facebook group, attend a weekly class, or make an appointment with a personal trainer to help provide you with motivation and accountability.
You don’t necessarily need a long period of time to get your workout in. Even if you only have 20 minutes, you can get your cardio and weights in at the Y’s full-service gym, while your children play in our childcare facility. Your health and fitness are vital to maintaining a busy lifestyle. Contact us to become a member and gain full access to all of our programs and facilities.
