Why YMCA Swim Lessons Belong in Your Schedule

YMCA swim lessons are a fantastic activity to encourage stronger swimming skills, introduce young children to the water, and promote better strength, flexibility, and endurance. The CDC reports that water-based exercise, like swimming, is effective at improving mental health, enhancing mood levels, and strengthening family bonds. Youth Swim Lessons

The YMCA offers youth swim lessons year-round at the Centennial Hills and SkyView branches. At our other branches, youth lessons are offered from June through September.

We offer both group and private lessons, and children as young as 3 can enroll. There are a variety of classes available that ensure swim students are able to continually improve their swimming skills.

Parent/Child Swim Lessons

Introduce children as young as 6 months old to aquatic fun with parent/child swim lessons. These lessons encourage positive interactions with the water and introduce basic water safety. Like the youth swim lessons, there are year-round offerings at the SkyView and Centennial Hills branches.

Swim Team

The Y swim team is led by trained coaches who strive to help swimmers improve their stroke technique and overall endurance. During competitions, the Y's core values of respect, honesty, caring, and responsibility are always upheld. Kids have a chance to interact and train with other swimmers who have similar aquatic abilities.

Swim team at the Y is a year-round activity at the Centennial Hills and SkyView branches. Swimmers are required to try out for the swim team to ensure they're placed on the appropriate team for their skill level.

Masters Swim

The Masters Swim class is geared towards adults who want to hone their swimming skills. It's intended for adults with prior swimming experience. Triathletes and individuals who like to swim to improve their fitness have a chance to practice and work on their stroke technique in a supportive environment.

Other Aquatic Offerings

The YMCA has other water-based activities for its members to enjoy. Water fitness classes are even included with your YMCA membership for no additional fee. Our offerings include:
